(Jedadaiah/13717) - “I thought molesting kids is a catholic tradition.”

"I thought molesting kids is a catholic tradition." Would you consider consummating your marriage to a 9 year old to be "molesting kids"? Glass houses, stones, etc.

(Survector/13711) - Beheading for not praying? That’s absurd and straight out of a Wahhabi horror

Beheading for not praying? That's absurd and straight out of a Wahhabi horror novel. At first I thought that new regime might be decent and not Talibanesque, but when I read that, I immediately knew they are Wahhabis because in Wahhabism if someone misses only ONE prayer....yes, only ONE prayer (for no good reason), then that person is an infidel (out of Islam). Why can't Islamic governments be normal? Why must they go to extremes? Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) never killed anyone for not praying.. Well, granted, everyone probably prayed, but there was a non-Muslim who threw dung (shit) at the Prophet and he never harmed him for doing that. One day, the person throwing dung wasn't there, so the Prophet went to visit him and found out he was sick. That person then became Muslim. The Prophet warned people not to go to extremes in the religion. If you don't pray, that is between you and God, not between you and the people. There are sins of 2 types (although I heard there are 3): Sins against the people Sins against God Sins against the people are the ones that get you punished with whippings and such. Stealing, murder, adultery... Sins against God could such as converting out of Islam. The person is given 3 chances to repent and if not, is sent out of the Muslim land in exile. Some people say he is to be killed, but I have not read anything authoritative on that. Beheading for not praying is definitely a product of Wahhabi teachings and is not based on Islam. Technically you only have to pray in the mosque on Fridays (and that only applies to men), otherwise you can pray at home, although that is disliked, but not forbidden. Spying is also forbidden in Islam, so if you didn't pray and were at home, no one has the right to spy on what you are doing in your house. Really, if those idiots in Somalia are beheading people who miss a few prayers (or even don't pray at all), then some sort of military action must be taken by the other Somalis to stop this evil. They are going too far! I'm not even sure the extremist Taliban executed people for missing prayers...did they???

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 12/4/06) - A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today called for the removal of a presidential appointee to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council because of his intolerant views toward Islam in American society. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) urged that talk show host and columnist Dennis Prager be removed from the taxpayer-supported museum's council because of a recent syndicated column in which he wrote that Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress, should be prevented from taking his oath of office using the Quran. (President Bush recently appointed Prager to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council, the governing board of the Holocaust Memorial Museum, for the remainder of a five year term expiring January 15, 2011.) In his column, headlined "America, Not Keith Ellison, Decides What Book a Congressman Takes His Oath On," Prager wrote that swearing an oath on the Quran "undermines American civilization." "Insofar as a member of Congress taking an oath to serve America and uphold its values is concerned, America is interested in only one book, the Bible," wrote Prager. "If you are incapable of taking an oath on that book, don't serve in Congress." Prager also wrote that Ellison's swearing on a Quran would "be doing more damage to the unity of America and to the value system that has formed this country than the terrorists of 9-11." (The U.S. Constitution states that "no religious test shall ever be required" to hold public office. No books of any kind are used in the actual swearing-in ceremony. Representatives may use any book they choose, or no book at all, during later ceremonial events.) The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) called Prager's views "intolerant, misinformed and downright un-American."
