Preparing to go for Hajj?
If you want to go for Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) this year, can you just book a flight and go? Unfortunately it’s not that simple. Certain preparations must be…

"Besides, it's a full time job that I care what face *I* put on my religion. That is my first concern." Fair enough. Don't be surprised when people think that laws in Saudi Arabia or Iran are a fair representation of what Islam requires though. And I'm being generous here and not using the people who chop heads off as an example. I'm not sure why this would be off topic here, by the way.
First Muslim Elected to U.S. Congress
Some said they would never see the day… a Muslim has been elected to serve in the U.S. Congress! Rep. Keith Ellison was elected on Tuesday to serve in…

Forgot to address this a few days ago - "Other religions consider it a sin to *be* a homosexual." That is incorrect. In Leviticus is says something to the effect of "men may not lay with other men like they do with women". That's it. You can *be* as homosexual as you like, and there's nothing at all in there about women sleeping with other women. That's what's written at least. People of all faiths don't necessarily limit themselves to what is written as we know.
(Pluck Duck/13516) - “I’m fairly well convinced that being gay is not a choice. I never said it
"I'm fairly well convinced that being gay is not a choice. I never said it was. PD, you're asking me how I can pretend to know what Islam says about it? Is that what you intended to say or did you mean something else? I don't need to pretend. Fine, I understand you reject Islam. I understand you will never" I suggest you go re-read your post then and see WHY I understood you to be saying that homosexuality was a choice. I don't see how you can argue what your religion says about a topic when you don't even understand the most basic concepts of that topic to begin with.

Are you aware that in Iran they have executed over 4000 gays since the Islamic revolution? People criticize that just like people outside the US criticize the death penalty in the US. Anyhow, your right to not "be plugging some dude" has nothing to do with the fact you think you can tell other dudes if they're supposed to be doing it or not when it has absolutely nothing to do with you. That's the part you don't seem to be getting.
(Saracen/13514) - That’s exactly what I said, Jedadiah. Well, that’s what I meant, any way. I
That's exactly what I said, Jedadiah. Well, that's what I meant, any way. I trust God to do what He sees fit and when I say I don't care, what I mean is that you can be gay or not, it doesn't matter to me at all. I don't judge people on that and I've never tried to execute someone because of it. I don't believe God is going to condemn all gays in the afterlife. In fact, I don't know what He's going to do and that's the real point. What I don't like is the insinuation that I'm some sort of bad or evil person because I don't advocate homosexuality. Heck, I don't even advocate heterosexuality for that matter. I don't tell guys they should be banging girls. I really don't care what other people do. I care what I do, and I don't think that's evil. I also resent the attitude in here. And about people looking at Saudi and Irani laws.. well, the only thing I can do about that is be on my best behavior and show people around me that we're not all crazy terrorists. I'm fairly well convinced that being gay is not a choice. I never said it was. PD, you're asking me how I can pretend to know what Islam says about it? Is that what you intended to say or did you mean something else? I don't need to pretend. Fine, I understand you reject Islam. I understand you will never accept any of our tenets. That's fine, doesn't matter to me. You've chosen to live your life the way you see fit but unfortunately that involved trying to change my opinions and ideas. All I do here is try to provide information and answer questions. I don't attack anyone over their beliefs or try to change them. Like I said before, I'm not an Islamic laywer and can not argue the finer points of law.
